29 Faces - Day 29

Welcome, welcome, Day 29 of 29 Faces, we finally got here!  This piece has been painted onto canvas which has been painted initially in a mixture of gold and other acrylic colors.  I then found the final character in the 29 Faces series to come and tell their story.

Day 29
Of course you will have to sit down with a cup of something tasty with your feet up to really hear it all, but she promises tales of far off adventures and travels, perhaps I'll get her to tell me first then I can share with you:)

I hope you have enjoyed the daily paintings, and it has encouraged you to take out your supplies and start a practice for your self.  The sooner you start the quicker you will see the benefits.

Stay bless and be a blessing, come back tomorrow for a roundup of all the images over the last few weeks.

29 Faces - Day 28

Welcome to day 28

I have so enjoyed creating the faces so far that I think I will continue in some form.  I feel that each character that I have been creating has a story to tell,  I am just the bridge that enables them to come out on the page.

Day 28 - Abigale

Abigale's story will unfold.....

Join me for tomorrows last image in the 29Faces challenge, and see who comes to tell their story!

29 Faces - Day 27

Welcome to day 27, which finds me using quite a bit of texture within the piece.  I used 3d paint as a first layer in swirls and once that was dry created the image.

She is harvesting the love!  The seeds that we plant in our lives at some point or another will grow - having been nurtured by our experiences, learning and discernment.  What will your harvest reap?

29 Faces - Day 26

Welcome to the last few days of the 29 Faces challenge.  I have been enjoying taking the time to create a face each day and I like how they are all coming out.  I think these last few days have been my favorite, and I guess I have found the style that I enjoy working on.

This piece I think is one of my favorites and it started out as a page I was taking off extra paint, and you can see this detail on her dress

It is great when you see the progression of a piece which you will get to see on my Realityarts blog  I will also be creating more process videos which I am looking forward to.

See you tomorrow for another image.

Stay blessed and be a blessing.

29 Faces - Day 19

Welcome to day 19 of #29faces and we are nearly at the home stretch now.  I have used a combination of graphite, watercolor and pen and ink on this page.  I think that she looks cute

29 Faces - Day 14 15, 16, 17, 18

Welcome to today's images for 29 Faces.  I had got so engrossed with completing the faces that I forgot to post what I had done.  The idea for me for the challenge is to make some art each and every day.  I know that when you practice something you hone your skill and ability.  It is allowing me the opportunity to try different styles and decide what I like about each and either bring elements together or not.

Here are the images for days 14 - 18
Day 18

I focus on keeping these images loose and either just using pen and ink or graphite and very few colours.

Day 17
I encourage you to get your supplies out and give it a go. Don't worry about what it might look like, but take your time with the process and the habits you are developing when you give yourself time to create.

Day 16

I look forward to sharing with you the image for tomorrow.  It will be great when I can look back on the 29 days and see how far I have come.  It will also be good to maybe revisit some of the images and adapt them for other things.
Day 15
Take your time each and every day, even if it is only 5 minutes to spend time creating....

Day 14
Before you know it you could be looking at some great images that you can take further or be the start of a really exciting project!  Take the time today to stay blessed and be a blessing...

29 Faces - Day 13

Welcome to day 13 of 29 Faces.

Today I decided to try something different, it all started out as a doodle, which I haven't done for a while.  Doodling is a great way to unwind and relax.  The more I did the more I wanted to complete it and use it as part of the challenge. Again, you can challenge yourself anyway you choose, and what you put in you will definitely get out of it.

Don't be afraid to try something new, out of a different box, mix and match those supplies and may try something you have been avoiding for a while, and see what you get.

29 Faces - Day 12

Welcome to Day 12 of 29 Faces

Are you still doubting whether you can be part of the challenge, don't, because even though it's day 12 you still have the opportunity to do 17 faces, that is 17 more than you would have done if you tell yourself that it is too late.

There is so much to gain from being part of any challenge, you push yourself, you show up for you each and every day. Why not show up tomorrow for you, shine your light and be that blessings.

29 Faces - Day 10

Welcome to day 10 of 29 Faces.

Another mixed media page, with the foundation being journaling and then creating an image that expresses what is written.  It will be interesting looking back on these pages to see if they still capture the emotion further down the line.

When you get a chance, check out some of the other creative people who are taking part in the challenge.

29 Faces - Day 9

Welcome to day 9 of 29 Faces

I do enjoy making up my own faces, and more and more I find that the faces I paint are usually expressing something from my own life.  What do you find yourself drawing or painting the most?  If you have just started out on your journey what kind of faces do you find yourself most drawn to?

Day 9 - 29 Faces
It would be great to hear how you approach your faces. Thank you for taking the time to stop by, do leave a comment

29 Faces - Day 8

Welcome to Day 8 of 29 Faces. Happy Monday!

I am continuing in my mini journal with the series of faces as part of the 29 Faces for February, and really enjoying combining both journalling and painting in the same book.  I normally just have a journal for writing and have been keeping them mostly separate, although in some of my art journals you will always find some a bit of writing.

The writing in this journal is mostly hidden, you will see the occasional word peeping through. I wasn't concerned with being able to go back and read in the journal as it was about remembering the emotions that I felt as I wrote in it, and the images express some of that emotion.  I will be sharing the mini book in a couple of weeks so you can see how I put it together, and the full pages of art.

Day 8 - 29 Faces
Join me tomorrow for day 9 of 29 Faces.

29 Faces - Day 7

Welcome to Day 7 of 29 Faces.  I hope today finds you in a reflective mood.  Being Sunday we spend our mornings at church and fellow-shipping with the other members at the service and really thinking about our lives, how we interact our impact on others and how we are using the gifts and the talents that we have.

We think about family near and far and those who may not have woken up today.  Each moment we have to make the most of the time, and take peace with us every where we go.  Today's picture reminds me of my peace within and the opportunities that we all have to share a little of that peace through our lives.

Day 7 of 29 Faces
This painting is part of a mini journal that I will be sharing on how I made it.  Come and join in the fun, why not create some faces yourself

29 Faces - Day 6

Welcome to day 6 of 29 Faces.  I have been allowing myself to play with my not-so-used-often supplies.  There will obviously always be your favorite things to work with, and for me at the moment is charcoal pencil and a 9B graphite pencil.  I normally use them to sketch the image once I have laid down the background colors and also use it a lot within the shading - they are great.  Along side gesso, which can give you some lovely textures.

Day 6 of 29 faces

This painting has been done as my front cover on a journal I made recently for The One BadAss Art Journal which you can still sign up for if you want to join us!

You don't have to complete a full painting for this challenge, you can just do sketches if that is what you have time for.  I have also used it to help me complete images that have gone unfinished, use it to work for you and remember to have fun!
