Art Hub Resources and Free Courses

It has been a while and I wanted to share with you a few things that I have been working on.  I have been spending time working on creating a few courses.  I love sharing information and knowledge and what better way to do this and reach people all around the world than make a digital offering.

I want you to take a look at some of the FREE courses if you have not seen them already, some of us are on a tight budget may not always be able to spend a few hundred dollars on a course.

I have created a few FREE offerings to give you a taste of my style of teaching, get your creative juices flowing and to inspire and encourage you to do something creative each and every day.  There are currently 3 resources that I wanted to share with you:

In the Mixed Media Art Tags you get to download 7 handmade designs of art tags and I share with you 7 videos in how you can alter them and make them your own.  You also get a series of bonus videos showing how you can take the left overs and work them into mini art journal pages.  You can sign up HERE

The Art Resource Hub brings you offers, reviews, information and inspiration each month and a Free monthly Mixed Media digital download page - You can sign up HERE

Recycled Stamps and Stencils shows you how to take every day objects that and turn them into art supplies that you can use in your art journals.   You can sign up HERE

So, what are you waiting for?  I would love you to join me and find ways to keep yourself creative.  You can sometimes worry about finding the time, but if you can just put away 15 minutes for some 'you time' you will see the benefits.

For those who have been asking I am still creating art work and I will be sharing more of my pieces here over the next few weeks.

Stay Blessed and be a Blessing.

Hacking the Color Wheel 2017

A course you cannot afford to miss!!!

I am really excited to share that  will be teaching in Hacking The Color Wheel, which is hosted by Kiala Givehand! It is split into 2 sessions and I will be teaching in Session 2

When you think about being a "creative rebel" what do you think about? I will be teaching and showing you different ways in which you can work with color, not feel restrictive and have fun.

We will look at how to use colors in a variety of ways including color wheels, mono-color studies, mixing color, different combinations of color and also think about how we use color to create mood and feeling, tell a story, and express ourselves.
Join the creative rebels as we journey together through lessons on bookbinding, color theory, techniques, mixed media spreads, and projects that will push the boundaries of color, art, and journaling.
You can sign up for the sessions now and take advantage of the Early Bird pricing for the Session 1 and 2 BUNDLE here. Session 1 starts June 11th and Early bird pricing ends May 15th. Come join us! You can find all the details here.
I hope you will join me and the other amazing artists for all book making, art journaling, and color fun.

29 Faces - Day 14 15, 16, 17, 18

Welcome to today's images for 29 Faces.  I had got so engrossed with completing the faces that I forgot to post what I had done.  The idea for me for the challenge is to make some art each and every day.  I know that when you practice something you hone your skill and ability.  It is allowing me the opportunity to try different styles and decide what I like about each and either bring elements together or not.

Here are the images for days 14 - 18
Day 18

I focus on keeping these images loose and either just using pen and ink or graphite and very few colours.

Day 17
I encourage you to get your supplies out and give it a go. Don't worry about what it might look like, but take your time with the process and the habits you are developing when you give yourself time to create.

Day 16

I look forward to sharing with you the image for tomorrow.  It will be great when I can look back on the 29 days and see how far I have come.  It will also be good to maybe revisit some of the images and adapt them for other things.
Day 15
Take your time each and every day, even if it is only 5 minutes to spend time creating....

Day 14
Before you know it you could be looking at some great images that you can take further or be the start of a really exciting project!  Take the time today to stay blessed and be a blessing...

29 Faces - Day 13

Welcome to day 13 of 29 Faces.

Today I decided to try something different, it all started out as a doodle, which I haven't done for a while.  Doodling is a great way to unwind and relax.  The more I did the more I wanted to complete it and use it as part of the challenge. Again, you can challenge yourself anyway you choose, and what you put in you will definitely get out of it.

Don't be afraid to try something new, out of a different box, mix and match those supplies and may try something you have been avoiding for a while, and see what you get.

29 Faces - Day 12

Welcome to Day 12 of 29 Faces

Are you still doubting whether you can be part of the challenge, don't, because even though it's day 12 you still have the opportunity to do 17 faces, that is 17 more than you would have done if you tell yourself that it is too late.

There is so much to gain from being part of any challenge, you push yourself, you show up for you each and every day. Why not show up tomorrow for you, shine your light and be that blessings.

29 Faces - Day 10

Welcome to day 10 of 29 Faces.

Another mixed media page, with the foundation being journaling and then creating an image that expresses what is written.  It will be interesting looking back on these pages to see if they still capture the emotion further down the line.

29 Faces - Day 9

Welcome to day 9 of 29 Faces

I do enjoy making up my own faces, and more and more I find that the faces I paint are usually expressing something from my own life.  What do you find yourself drawing or painting the most?  If you have just started out on your journey what kind of faces do you find yourself most drawn to?

Day 9 - 29 Faces
It would be great to hear how you approach your faces. Thank you for taking the time to stop by, do leave a comment

29 Faces - Day 8

Welcome to Day 8 of 29 Faces. Happy Monday!

I am continuing in my mini journal with the series of faces as part of the 29 Faces for February, and really enjoying combining both journalling and painting in the same book.  I normally just have a journal for writing and have been keeping them mostly separate, although in some of my art journals you will always find some a bit of writing.

The writing in this journal is mostly hidden, you will see the occasional word peeping through. I wasn't concerned with being able to go back and read in the journal as it was about remembering the emotions that I felt as I wrote in it, and the images express some of that emotion.  I will be sharing the mini book in a couple of weeks so you can see how I put it together, and the full pages of art.

Day 8 - 29 Faces
Join me tomorrow for day 9 of 29 Faces.

29 Faces - Day 7

Welcome to Day 7 of 29 Faces.  I hope today finds you in a reflective mood.  Being Sunday we spend our mornings at church and fellow-shipping with the other members at the service and really thinking about our lives, how we interact our impact on others and how we are using the gifts and the talents that we have.

We think about family near and far and those who may not have woken up today.  Each moment we have to make the most of the time, and take peace with us every where we go.  Today's picture reminds me of my peace within and the opportunities that we all have to share a little of that peace through our lives.

Day 7 of 29 Faces
This painting is part of a mini journal that I will be sharing on how I made it.  Come and join in the fun, why not create some faces yourself

29 Faces - Day 6

Welcome to day 6 of 29 Faces.  I have been allowing myself to play with my not-so-used-often supplies.  There will obviously always be your favorite things to work with, and for me at the moment is charcoal pencil and a 9B graphite pencil.  I normally use them to sketch the image once I have laid down the background colors and also use it a lot within the shading - they are great.  Along side gesso, which can give you some lovely textures.

Day 6 of 29 faces

This painting has been done as my front cover on a journal I made recently for The One BadAss Art Journal which you can still sign up for if you want to join us!

You don't have to complete a full painting for this challenge, you can just do sketches if that is what you have time for.  I have also used it to help me complete images that have gone unfinished, use it to work for you and remember to have fun!

29 Faces for the month of February!

I really can't believe that I haven't posted here for so long.  I apologize for those of you who have come to see what I have been up to art wise and have turned away disappointed because I was no where to be found.  I have had many changes take place over the last year, many tough decisions had to be made and then life just came and happened as it does and my focus was elsewhere.

I plan to revive my postings here and I hope that you are blessed and it inspires or encourages you or both to get your creative self moving and make something, paint, whatever the materials, just do it.

I have updated my side bars and you will see the courses that I am currently teaching in.  The Journey within - a One year Art Journal JourneyThe One BadAss Art Journal a twelve week adventure to uncover the you that has been trying to get out...lol and I am a guest artist on Embrace Your Art 2016.  Click on the links to find out more.  I will also be sharing some of the images I produce both here, and you will find the more tutorial based projects at my Inspiration, Art and Creativity Blog

For the month of February I am taking part in the 29 Faces, hosted by Ayala Art and I will be sharing the daily faces here, its a great way to get your creative juices going and take some time out to practice either something your familiar with or try something new.  I am using it as a way to help me utilize some of the materials that haven't been used for a while and see how it will inspire me.  I do hope you join in, stretch yourself and you may even surprise yourself.

As it is day 3, I will show you want I have so far.

Day 3 of 29 Faces

Day 2 of 29 Faces

Day 1 of 29 Faces
I hope you come along and play, and create your own faces, it's not too late to start!  Check out some of the courses and see which one or both you may want to try.  The great thing about the classes are you don't need to worry about falling behind, it is entirely about your journey, so you can pick as much or as little as you like to get you going.

Looking forward to reconnecting with you, stay blessed and be a blessing!

Art Series 2

Hope you had a blessed weekend.  I am continuing to show some of the work that I have been doing over the past few weeks.  I hope you enjoy

Mixed Media - Feeling the breeze
I love that feeling of the breeze brushing against your face, especially if it is a warm sea breeze, and then moving along the waves a feeling of freedom envelops you....

When I was painting this picture I had in mind someone out in the fields, but the painting had other ideas, and this wise person emerged

Gratitude's and Celebration Journal - New Pages

For the next few days I will be bringing you up to speed with some of the art work that I have been busy completing.  I had promised myself that I would not sit on too many unfinished pieces but make an effort to push through and get them done.  Some have been paintings that I have been inspired to do, others have been work that I am doing in my Gratitude's and celebration journal.

If you see any that you would like to purchase click on the link for my Society 6 site and you will be able to either buy the original in some cases or a print.  I have also been toying with opening up an Etsy store, but that needs some more thought.

These pages are from my Gratitude's and Celebration Journal that I do every week, Click on the image to be taken to the post, enjoy!

New Art - Art and Creative pursuit

Here is some art that is mostly from my gratitude and celebration journal.  I work in it once a week writing about the things that I am grateful for and create a painting, or something that expresses how I am feeling.  I think that it is important that we regularly to take time and stop to think what things that particular week have impacted on our lives and what we are grateful for.
